China unveiled its newest diving diva at the Youth Olympic games. Teenager Liu Jiao lived up to expectations as China's dream team began its quest for gold in the pool at Singapore.
Liu qualified for the final with an huge advantage. And she established a comfortable cushion after her second dive in the final.
Liu executed a flawless routine for her last jump, and earned 81.60 points. She finally clinched the gold medal with a total of 479.5. That was 25 more than her second place rival Pandelela Pamg of Malaysia. Sin Ji-Hyang of DPRK won bronze.
