More than a quarter of a million residents have been safely evacuated from flooded regions of China's northeastern province of Liaoning. The residents are mostly from Dandong and they were relocated in less than 24 hours.
Over two thousand soldiers and rescue workers had been mobilized to evacuate stranded residents and build flood barriers from sand bags. Early reports say four people died and one is missing. Water levels in the Yalu River began to dip Sunday after reaching 2.35 meters, the highest in more than a decade. But authorities warn the danger has not passed.
