China will unswervingly promote the policy of reform and opening up, while creating a sound environment for foreign companies operating in the country. Vice Premier Wang Qishan gave the assurance to senior US officials in Beijing on Monday.
Wang Qishan exchanged views on China-US ties and economic and trade cooperation with Lawrence Summers, head of US President Barack Obama's National Economic Council, and Deputy National Security Adviser, Tom Donilon.
The vice premier said China is ready to work with the US to implement consensus reached by state leaders of the two countries, for sustainable, healthy and steady development of bilateral ties. The US officials called for stronger coordination in macro policies, and promoting cooperation for the strong, balanced and sustainable growth of the global economy.
