We begin with the latest on Typhoon Megi. As of 9 a.m. Beijing time.

Megi was located at 50 kilometers south of Zhangpu, in east China's Fujian Province, and its central wind force reached 40 meters per second. It's continuing to move north, at about 10 kilometers per hour.

As it edges closer to the coast of Fujian, Megi could be reduced to a strong tropical cyclone, or become weakened as it moves north. Currently, regions along the Chinese mainland's southeastern coast are bracing for strong wind and rains.

It's forecast that the eastern part of Zhejiang Province, the central and eastern part of Fujian Province, the eastern part of Guangdong Province, and the Taiwan region will see storms ranging in severity.
