China and the United States have kicked off their annual trade talks in Washington DC. With high-ranking officials of both countries beginning the session in small groups on Tuesday afternoon. Full Story>>

For more on the annual trade talks between China and US in Washington, we are joined by our current affairs commentator, Professor Tao Wenzhao, from the Tsinghua Center for US-China relations.

Q1: We know that high-ranking officials from both countries are attending the meeting, including Chinese Vice Premier, Wang Qishan, and the US Commerce Secretary, Gary Locke. What's the agenda for the talks and what topics will the two sides discuss?

Q2: What's the role of Sino-US trade relations in the overall ties between the two powers?

Q3: We know the RMB-US dollar exchange rate has been a thorny issue between the two countries. Will the two sides hold talks on that issue during this meeting?
