Zhou Enlai Avenue takes in two other symbols of the China- Pakistan friendship - the Jinnah Sports Complex and the newly-built Pakistan-China Friendship Center.

The nameplate of the avenue stands out, and is always an eye catcher.

Zhou Rong, Visiting Professor, Peshawar University, said, "The road runs in an easterly direction, as China is to the east of Pakistan. The avenue is also located in the eastern part of Islamabad. This is the significance of the location - it has a deep meaning."
