People are calling her crazy, but 19-year-old Estibalis Georgina Chavez continues to cling to her dream of attending next week's Royal Wedding in London. After a gruelling 16-day hunger strike, she is now one step closer to living out her fairytale.

The teenage girl has finally set-off for London. A good Samaritan had heard about her story and agreed to lend her the money she needed to make the journey. Now, the next challenge awaits: presenting a portrait she has painted to Prince William and Kate Middleton, as a wedding present.

Chavez decided to leave her home in the outskirts of Mexico City in February to camp out in front of the British Embassy. There, she began a hunger strike in an effort to obtain an invitation to the royal wedding.

She has been repeatedly told that no more invitations to the event are available.

Estibalis Georgina Chavez, said, "At the time I didn't see my hunger strike as something drastic or dramatic. People told me I was putting my health at risk for something many believe to be frivolous and silly. But I think that for me, it was the only way to achieve my goal."

Her story has been widely covered by the Mexican media. Chavez's portrait is an oil painting based on William and Kate's engagement photo. It is just one of many royal-themed works she keeps in a small room in her home. Once she reaches London, she hopes to find someone who can give the painting to the royal couple on her behalf.
