Libyan transition council seeks global recognition

The conference of regional councils of Libya is urging the international community to recognize the National Transitional Council. It's also calling all of its supporters to gather in Benghazi for Friday prayers.

Leaders from the 23 local councils and tribes in south and west Libya, were meeting in Doha.

The representatives explained the situation of their regions and extended gratitude to Qatar for its support.

The leaders also urged the international community to provide them with weapons through legitimate channels. They also outlined their urgent need for food, fuel and medicine.
