Spain has dismissed blame over the E-coli outbreak. Several countries, including Germany, Belgium and Russia, have blocked Spanish cucumber imports. This comes after German authorities identified cucumbers from Spain as being a source for the contamination.

Berlin has warned consumers to avoid eating cucumbers, ordering the removal of some products from shop shelves. Spain has criticized Germany's claim saying it is unfounded and has caused irreparable damage. Madrid says the cucumbers may have been contaminated en-route or elsewhere.

Spanish Environment Minister Rosa Aguilar said, "Germany has to work fast to give transparent and necessary information so that all of the EU knows just where the problem is."
