It has been a year since the People's Bank of China promised it would be more flexible in managing the yuan. But what achievements have there been, if any in that period and what can we expect to happen with RMB exchange rate reform in the future. Well hopefully with the answers to some of those questions we are now joined on the line by our current affairs commentator, Professor Liu Baocheng, from the University of International Business and Economics.

Q1: Hello, professor, firstly have we seen any improvements or changes with regards to reform in exchange rates and how have we seen that reflected in international trade and the real economy?

Q2: There has been less pressure recently from the international community for more appreciation in China's yuan, however domestically, rises in inflation have prompted some analysts to say the currency does indeed need to appreciate further. What's your view on this?
