Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi has also met his counterparts from New Zealand, the DPRK, Russia and Pakistan in Bali, on the sidelines of the ASEAN Regional Forum.

During the meeting between Yang and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, the two sides agreed to make joint efforts to implement the consensus reached by the two countries' leaders, and to continuously advance their comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

The Russian side praised the agreement reached by China and ASEAN countries on the guidelines of implementing the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the South China Sea. Lavrov voiced Russia's objection to internationalizing and regionalizing the South China Sea issue.

When meeting with DPRK Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chun, Yang said the two countries should continue maintaining high-level exchanges, deepening economic and trade cooperation, expanding people-to-people interaction and enhancing multi-lateral coordination.

The two sides also hoped to further enhance their cooperation in international and Asia-Pacific regional mechanisms.
