China wins women's final in World Team Cup

In the women’s final, China was taking on Japan. The opener, pitting China’s Li Xiaoxia up against Japan’s Fukuhara Ai. This match-up would quickly turn one sided, with the Chinese rolling over the Japanese on her way to a 3-0 win to put China up 1-0.

Next up for China was Guo Yan, facing Hirano Sayaka. Although Sayaka was able to record one set win, Guo would take a 3-1 victory to move China into a 2-0 lead.

So again, it would come down to a win in the doubles for the Chinese women and there, Li Xiaoxia teamed up with Guo Yue to brush aside their Japanese competition to give China the women’s doubles win and the World Team Title.
