Hijacked Chinese ship rescued, all members safe

All 28 Chinese aboard a cargo ship hijacked by pirates in the sea of Oman have been rescued.

The cargo ship named, Xiang Hua Men, belonging to a Nanjing company was hijacked in the Sea of Oman near the Iranian port Chabahar on Friday morning.

Following the rescue, the ship is headed for its previous target port B-I-K in Iran. The Nanjing Yuan Yang company says it will give 10,000 dollars in compensation to each of the 28 crew members.

The company has 2 or 3 ships passing the Gulf and Red Sea area each month, mainly carrying steel, mineral stones, food and other goods. It says it will strengthen safety measures in the future and take special considerations over future business in the region.
