impression while deepening his understanding of the area.

Dr. S. Jaishankar said, "It is very beautiful. And I have greatly impressed by the history and culture of Tibet."

About 500 thousand Indians visit China each year. Mount Kangrinpoqe, considered the most divine mountain in Tibetan Buddhism and the sacred lake of Manasarovar are popular sites for Indian tourists and pilgrims.

The 57 year old ambassador took up his post in 2009. He says his visit to Tibet has produced fruitful achievements and is confident that cultural exchanges between China and India will increase.
