Tele interview: First cross-border ETF issued on mainland

Just over a week ago, China approved the mutual listings of ETFs on both the Mainland exchanges and Hong Kong and today Beijing-based China Asset Management and Hong Kong based E-Fund Management launched the Mainland’s first batch of cross-border ETFs products tracking stocks in Hong Kong.Full story >>

For more on the first mainland ETFs to track Hong Kong stocks, we’re joined on the line by Mr. Chen Xingdong. He is the managing director and chief economist at BNP Paribas Securities Asia.

Q1: Mr. Chen, this is another step towards financial reform in China and the further opening of the country's capital markets. How significant is this issuance and where does the ETF market in China go from here.

Q2: How big is this in terms of facilitating and increasing the two way flow of China's currency, the RMB?
