African officials expect to boost coop. between China and Africa

Ahead of the fifth Ministerial Conference of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum, high-ranking African officials have been talking about their expectations for the talks.

The Cape Verde ambassador to China says the two countries have been cooperating on fishing, logistics and transportation. He hopes more measures can be introduced to benefit mutual trade. The Ethiopian ambassador to China says Chinese enterprises have invested heavily in Ethiopia, with a number of railway projects, power plants and shoe factories currently under construction. Ethiopia is also looking for more opportunities for cooperation.

Julio Cesar Freire de Morais, Cape Verde's Ambassador to China, said, "We are very looking forward to hear new measures that's going to be announced. Measures that could facilitate Chinese direct investment to our country."

Seyoum Mesfin Gebredingel, Ethiopia's Ambassador to China, said, "We expect new measure, especially in those concerning infrastructure, technology, and also in political consultation, peace and security issues."
