Well, to discuss this, we’re joined in the studio by Dong Manyuan, Senior research fellow at the China Institute of International Studies. Welcome, Mr. Dong.

Q1: Do you think this move by the UN to extend the monitoring mission will have any influence on the current situation in Syria?

Q2: If things stay as they are, could certain countries actually bypass the UN, and even go as far as using force against Syria?
