London Olympic organisers have mistakenly displayed the South Korean flag instead of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea’s ahead of the country’s women’s football match with Colombia.

It happened when a player from the DPRK was introduced along with a shot of the South Korean flag on a giant screen at the ground in Glasgow. The mistake prompted the DPRK team to walk off the pitch and the match was delayed for more than an hour. The International Olympic Committee said responsibility for the mistake lay with London officials and the organisers eventually apologised for the error over the public address system.
