"Super Dan" defends Olympic crown

One day after Super Saturday, it was a Golden Sunday for China at London 2012. Chinese athletes were able to pull in five more gold medals yesterday and this means that after nine days of competition, China is on top of the overall medal table holding a slight edge on the USA, 61-60 in the overall medal table and 30-28 in the gold medal table.

Helping China's cause yesterday, was one of the nation's biggest sporting stars Lin Dan. The super one, looking to make it back-to-back Olympic titles and keep China on track for a sweep of all badminton gold medals on offer.

China's Lin Dan has retained his Olympic badminton title in the men's singles final,
beating Lee Chong Wei of Malaysia in a repeat of their Beijing showdown.

And the final of the men's badminton singles could not have been set up any better. Dan, taking on arch-rival Lee Chong Wei from Malaysia, a meeting of the top two ranked men in the world. And this match did not disappoint.

After two back and forth sets,it all game down to a deciding third. And there, the script remained the same but China's Lin Dan would just pull it out 21-19 to clinch his second straight Olympic gold. China's Chen Long picked up the bronze.
