China’s National Meteorological Center has issued yellow alert over a storm’s potential damage. It is called Kai-tak. The storm made landfall early Wednesday over Isabela province in The northern Philippines’ Luzon region. It claimed its first casualty in Pangasinan province.

The storm is now traversing northern Luzon and approaching China’s southern regions. China’s Meteorological authorities say Kai-Tak is moving northwest at a speed of 15 to 20 km per hour.

It will graze or land on southern regions of Taiwan on Wednesday night or Thursday evening, before approaching coastal areas of Guangdong and Fujian provinces. Meteorologists are urging authorities to call ships back to harbor, reinforce outdoor facilities, and evacuate workers on offshore oil platforms.
