S.Korea: US favours Japan on territory issues

The US exerts absolute influence on Japan and South Korea. This is according to a South Korean newspaper, the Business Herald. The article was published as South Korea and US hold joint military drills. The editorial went on to say the US favours Japan.

The paper described US criticism of the South Korean President’s landing on the Dokdo Islands as short-sighted. It also said the US ignores the fact that Japan is the provocative side and South Korea is the victim.

It added, on all territory issues, the US accepts Japan’s claims as 100 percent true. It also said the US has failed to address the 1953 US-South Korea Mutual Defend Treaty that covers the disputed Dodko Islands.
