China's Olympic gold medallists visit Hong Kong

Some of China’s Olympic gold medallists arrived in Hong Kong on Friday for a three-day visit after grabbing 38 gold medals at the London Games.

Among the 70 strong delegation was 1500 metre swimmer Sun Yang, the first Chinese male to win Olympic gold in the pool, and 16-year-old female swimmer Ye Shiwen who also won gold - both swimmers setting new world records. As already mentioned China won 38 gold medals and finished second on the medal tally, behind the United States with 46 gold medals. The delegation’s itinerary in Hong Kong includes public demonstrations - in badminton, table tennis and diving, as well as a gala show. Delegation chief Liu Peng says the group wanted to share the pride and joy of the Chinese team’s success with the people in the region.

Liu Peng, Chief of Delegation, said, "Together with our Hong Kong brothers and sisters, we share the pride of being Chinese and the joy of the Olympic Games."
