The 9th China-ASEAN Expo and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit are now underway in Nanning, capital of South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

The event also marks the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Framework Agreement on Comprehensive Cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, as well as the China-ASEAN Year of Science and Technology Cooperation.

The China-ASEAN Expo has produced fruitful outcomes one year after another, providing a platform for promoting friendly exchanges, economy and trade, as well as cooperation in multiple fields.

Nearly 1,500 booths display the latest projects and products.

A specialized coffee exhibition with 50 booths is set up to promote the industry in Southeast Asia.

The expo has long been attractive to coffee producers from Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam. This year’s exhibition also features coffee planting, processing techniques and the coffee culture in those nations.

Traditional coffee, instant coffee, coffee-making equipment and renowned coffee shops are all highlighted.

The China-ASEAN Expo has widened the path for trade. Take China and Thailand for example, China has become the largest export market for Thailand fruits, which has more than doubled since 2010.

Bilateral trade volume between China and ASEAN has also grown to 360 million US Dollars, from 7 million US dollars 10 years ago. China has become the largest trading partner for ASEAN, and ASEAN has become China’s third largest trading partner.

To promote the theme of Science and Technology Cooperation, senior officials from ministries of science and technology from all sides are also holding a high-level meeting, exploring the possibilities for joint work in such field as technology transfer.
