China’s Banking Regulatory Commission says bank loans to strategic emerging industries and small and micro businesses have risen in the 3rd quarter of 2012.

Yang Shaojun, deputy director of general office, CBRC, said, "We have looked at loans from the China Development Bank and the five biggest banks. By the end of the third quarter, the amount of loans to emerging industries had increased by 131.7 billion yuan. It’s a big increase compared to the previous two quarters."

The newest figures from the regulator also show that loans to the energy saving and environmental protection industries, industries related to new materials, new energy, new technology and new facilities also grew. Analysts say with the country’s steady growth, measures to expand domestic demand are seeing results. Demand for credit is weakening as many enterprises end their de- stocking.
