9 suspects and 3 wanted Taiwan men to be deported

11-01-2012 14:12 BJT

Mainland and Taiwan law-enforcement agencies are to deport 9 suspects and 3 wanted men back to Taiwan. The men will be handed over to Taiwan later on Thursday, from Fujian Province.

In February this year, Taiwan’s immigration department informed mainland police about a gang that was suspected of abducting mainland women, and forcing them into prostitution in Taiwan. Following the tip-off, Cross-strait law-enforcement agencies managed to break up 5 sex trade rings, arresting 33 people, including 2 men already wanted in Taiwan.

Just last month, a political representative of Taiwan Taoyuan county was murdered, with the suspect absconding to Guangdong Province. He was arrested by mainland police, and will be deported along with the other 11 men from Taiwan, who were arrested back in February.
