And He Guoqiang, CCDI Secretary and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, addressed the meeting.

After the meeting, the CCDI released a communique, saying that the Party’s efforts to improve conduct in office and fight corruption since the 17th CPC National Congress five years ago have made new progress and fruitfull results.

However, the document said it must be fully understood that anti-corruption efforts are a "long-term, complicated and tough battle," that must take into account a changing reality and complicated and critical challenges.

The communique said that greater efforts would be made to improve the CPC’s corruption punishment and prevention system and that more will be done to solve the outstanding problems that are major sources of complaints by the public.

It added that the CPC is consistent in vigorously fighting corruption and promoting good conduct and honesty and that these are key political issues of major concern for the people.
