Earlier, The Los Angeles Lakers have officially fired head coach Mike Brown after a dismal start in the new season. Defeated at Utah on Wednesday, the star-studded squad registered a 1-4 record and dropped to last place in the Western Conference.

The move to fire Brown caught many off guard, but some players said it’s only reasonable to do so considering the desperate situation the Lakers find themselves in.

Pau Gasol, center of Los Angeles Lakers, said, "It’s surprising, unexpected at this point but, at the same time, we’re 1-4, we’re in the bottom of the Western Conference with probably one of the best - if not the best - full roster in the league so, so that’s it."

Metta World Peace, Power Forward of Los Angeles Lakers, said, "He’s not the first coach to be fired in the history of sports, the history of athletics. Not the first employee to be fired. It’s ok, he make a great living, big contract. The Lakers have won a lot of championships. It’s positive. Everything is just positive - it’s just something that happens."
