A cold front continues to chill many parts of China. Rain and snow in east and central China have disrupted traffic at airports and express ways.
The Zhejiang Meteorological department issued the year’s first blue warning for a cold wave on Saturday. The province is seeing continuous rainfall from the west to the east.
Snow is falling in the northwestern mountains. Neighboring Jiangxi Province is experienced its first snow of the season, with sleet in some areas. Visibility on major expressways has been poor. In Central China’s Hunan Province, there's been a series of warning for blizzards and heavy fog.
Icy roads have caused several accidents. Ice has covered dozens of 70 high-voltage electrical wires up to six millimeters. The National Grid’s local branch has sent a 12-hundred-strong team for repairs and to monitor the situation.
