Mt. Qomolangma Reserve: World's highest reserve

Mount Qomolangma National Nature Reserve is located in southern Tibetan Autonomous Region, near the border between China and Nepal. It spans an area of about 3.4 million hectares.

With an average height of about 4,200 meters, Mt. Qomolangma National Nature Reserve is the highest reserve in the world. You can find four of the world’s six highest mountains here, including Mt. Qomolangma, the world’s highest peak reaching 8,844 meters. The reserve is built to protect extremely rare alpine ecosystems and plateau landscape as well as Tibetan culture.

It is home to a diverse spectrum of species, including over 2,000 kinds of plants and nearly 300 types of animals. More than 80,000 people are also living here. The reserve holds Rongbu Monastery, the highest temple in the world, at 4,500 meters.
