Manchester City beat Bayern Munich 3-2 in thriller but stay second

UEFA Champions League Bayern Munich won group D despite losing to Manchester City.Both teams had already qualified for the knock-out round of the Champions League. Bayern led City by three points on top of the group, they'd beaten them earlier in the competition and Thomas Muller’s early goal makes Pep Guardiola believe his team could easily win this one as well.

The visitors showed no signs of coming back at first and Bayern scored again in the 12th minute. Toni Kroos’ corner created a scramble in the area, and Mario Goetze scores from close range to extend the lead to two goals.

Bayern were heading for their 12th straight win in all competitions. Joe Hart, back in the team, not able to stop it. Man City now needed four goals to claim top spot.

In Group B, Real had secured first place, while Juventus and Galatasaray will sort out the second place on Wednesday after the weather intervened. Benfica beat Paris St. Germain 2-1, but Olympiakos's win over Anderlecht Means the Greeks go through with PSG. Benfica will play in the Europa league. Viktoria Plzen only won a berth in the Europa League after beating CSKA Moscow 2-1.
