Wawrinka beats Roger-Vasselin 7-5,6-2 at Chennai open

At the Chennai Open, the World Number eight Stanislas Wawrinka was taking on Edouard Roger-Vasselin in Sunday's final. We join things in the fourth game. Wawrinka coming forward to the net but a nice passing shot from the Frenchman wins him that point.

The first was a tight affair, this time Rogers-Vasselin coming forward but his drop-shot isn’t quite good enough, and Wawrinka has plenty of time to find the winner.

And Wawrinka didn’t look back from there. He’s already broken here in the second set. Roger-Vasselin slipping as he loses this point. Staying down, more to catch his breath than because he’s injured.

And the world number 8 finished him off with an ace, his fifth of the match, to clinch the second set 6-2. Wawrinka avenging his defeat at the hands of Roger-Vasselin at last years Swiss Indoor Championships in Basel to take the trophy and a winners cheque of 72 thousand US dollars.
