Hao Hao and Xing Hui arrive in Belgium

China's goodwill ambassadors to Belgium, giant pandas Hao Hao and Xing Hui have arrived from their breeding center in southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The two pandas are both four years old and will stay there for the next 15 years. They are bound for a research program at the Paradise, or Pairi Daiza Zoo in the city of Brugelette.

A romantic journey starts for Hao Hao and Xing Hui.

The high-profile panda couple have known each other since they were born in July 2009.

Xing Hui, the male, weighs 110 kilogram. His nature is composed and quiet.Hao Hao is mischievous.The 118 kilogram girl is a breezy extrovert.

The two pandas have been in quarantine for over a month, and are in excellent health.

The couple will stay in Belgium for 15 years, 5 more than usual.

The term has been expanded to cover the optimum reproductive age of giant pandas, from 5 to 19 years.

The Belgian government says the pandas will strengthen Sino-Belgian friendship and enhance understanding and connections between China and Europe.
