Exclusive: Sino-US relations enter a new era

Cui Tiankai is China's ambassador to the United States. He's been instrumental in facilitating last year's 8-hour informal meeting between the Chinese and US Presidents in California.

Ambassador Cui is back in Beijing for the CPPCC session. He told CCTV News Host Tian Wei in an exclusive interview about the importance of a personal relationship between the top leaders of the two countries to what's arguably the most important bilateral relationship. He says the Chinese side is now actively preparing for the informal visit by the US First Lady Michelle Obama and her family members later this month.
