Hu Jintao meets Expo guests in Shanghai

On the sidelines of the World Expo, President Hu Jintao met with several visiting world leaders in Shanghai. They're all in China to experience the current global event.

During a meeting with his Maldivian counterpart, Mohamed Nasheed, President Hu Jintao called on the two countries to build political trust, expand economic ties, enhance humanitarian exchanges and regional and international cooperation.

President Nasheed said his country is willing to increase ties with China in the fields of fishery and tourism. He also appreciated China's role in promoting international cooperation on climate change.

During President Hu's meeting with Micronesian President Emanuel Mori, he said China is willing to make joint efforts with Micronesia to deepen cooperation.

During President Hu's meeting with Micronesian President Emanuel Mori, he said China is willing to make joint efforts with Micronesia to deepen cooperation. His proposals include improve mutual understanding and trust, enhance exchanges and deepen cooperation in all levels.

President Mori said his country wants to expand cooperation in telecommunication and infrastructure construction. He reiterated that Micronesia would firmly stick to the one-China policy.
