The FBI has arrested three men on suspected immigration violations in the northeastern part of the United States in a string of morning raids.

The three arrests -- two Pakistani men in the Boston area and one person in Maine -- are administrative and not criminal. The two Pakistani men have connections to the accused Times Square bomber, Faisal Shahzad, and may have provided him with funds.

Eric Holder, US Attorney General, said, "At least 3 arrests have been made at this point in the northeastern part of the United States. These are people who are connected to Mr. Shahzad, we're still trying to determine exactly what the nature of that connection was. There's at least a basis to believe that one of the things that they did was providing him with funds and so we're trying to trace back to see what exactly was the nature of those transactions, the purpose of the sharing of those monies and so this is just part of an ongoing investigation and I think though this is a significant step."
