In New York City, a suspicious vehicle with gas canisters inside was found to be harmless. An all-clear was given to the city that witnessed a failed bombing attempt at Times Square two weeks ago.

A pedestrian saw two gas canisters inside a car parked near Union Square Thursday night and called police.

Bomb squad agents armed with a robot were dispatched to the scene, but nothing suspicious was found. Parts of a nearby building were evacuated and the area around the site was cordoned off.

Authorities have located the vehicle's owner, who said the gas cans in the car were for lawn-mowers. He said he parked the car in the area because he was attending a concert nearby.
