About 3,000 workers and students supporting the Communist Labor Movement, or PAME, marched Thursday in Athens to protest the government's latest labor market and pension reform plans.

PAME supporters, from students to senior citizens, wound their way through the capital on Thursday to keep up the momentum against austerity measures the government is implementing to save the economy.

Greece unveiled new labor market reform plans on Wednesday that make it easier for large firms to lay-off workers and reduce the minimum wage for newly-hired people below 25 years old.

The measures are part of an austerity program agreed to with the EU and the IMF. The austerity program also includes public sector wage cuts, tax increases, hiring freezes, pension cuts and raising the retirement age.
