The Chinese government has given top priority to educational reform and development. Let's take a closer look at how the government has mapped out the National Outline for Medium and Long Term Educational Reform and Development.
In August 2008, the government began drafting a document to chart the course for educational development between 2010 and 2020. In 2009 and 2010, the government twice launched campaigns seeking public opinions and suggestions on the plan. The State Council has passed the outline in May this year.
The document covers many important issues such as reforming the university management system, improving the quality of vocational education, and reducing children's study loads.
