US House and Senate negotiators say they have forged a deal on new, unilateral economic sanctions against Iran. According to the draft legislation, foreign banks doing business with key Iranian banks or the county's Revolutionary Guard would be denied access to the U.S. financial system.
The sanctions would also penalize foreign companies that sell Iran refined petroleum products or support its refining efforts, and energy sector.
