More aid arrives in S. Kyrgyzstan

United Nations aid agencies and other organizations, are stepping up humanitarian efforts in Kyrgyzstan. A cargo plane with emergency supplies arrived in the southern Kyrgyz city of Osh on Monday, to help some of the 300 thousand people displaced by ethnic violence. 

The flight of the World Food Program included 20 tons of high-energy biscuits, an armored car, body armor, emergency communication equipment, as well as pre-fabricated office supplies. The equipment will be used for setting up a humanitarian hub at the Osh airport. The first humanitarian aid flight from the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees arrived in Osh on Sunday.
