European champions Spain have beaten Chile, 2-1 in group H of the World Cup. The result sends both teams into the final 16 from Group H.
In another match held simultaneously, Honduras held Switzerland to a nil-nil draw in Group H of the World Cup on Friday. The result knocked both teams out of the tournament.
In the Spain-Chile match, the ball fell to talented Spanish forward David Villa in the 24th minute who curled it into the net.
La Roja extended their lead 13 minutes later. Millar's shot in the 47th minute deflected off the knee of a defender and over the helpless Spanish goalkeeper.
Meanwhile, The Swiss could have won a spot in the final 16 with a two-goal win over Honduras. But Switzerland played with little urgency or creative flair, and couldn't translate their domination of possession into quality scoring opportunities.
