Taiwan leader Ma Ying-jeou says signing the Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement or ECFA was the right choice for Taiwan.
On Thursday, Ma announced his new economic strategy. He said ECFA would end Taiwan's economic isolation, boost cross-strait cooperation and speed up Asia-Pacific economic integration.
He also believed ECFA would bring Taiwan more opportunities and increase its competitiveness.
Meanwhile, He called on the legislature to pass ECFA as early as possible.
