Torrential rain has pounded Tokyo, flooding parts of the Japanese capital.
More than 100 millimeters of rain fell in an hour overnight on Monday. The downpour ceased later in the night, but the Shakujii river in northern Tokyo burst its banks, and flooded about 400 meters of land.
A rescue team is searching for a missing man who was last seen on the sandbank. More than 35 houses were submerged, and about 90 people were evacuated after being trapped in a flooded storage facility they were working.
