Hu Jintao meets Pakistani President Zardari

President Hu Jintao has met with visiting Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. They exchanged views on issues of common concerns including the China-Pakistan strategic cooperative partnership.

During their meeting, President Hu Jintao said leaders of the two countries should keep regular meetings and contact, exchanging views on vital issues.

China is willing to deepen cooperation on trade, energy, transportation, communication, infrastructure and agriculture with Pakistan.

China is also willing to expand humanism exchanges, enlarging cooperation on culture, education, healthcare and media.

The two countries' cooperation on combating terrorism, separatism and extremism will benefit the people of both sides. Hu said it helps maintain regional peace, stability and safety.

China will strengthen its cooperation with Pakistan in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. China will also keep exchanging with Pakistan on the reform of the UN Security Council and climate change, and maintaining developing countries' common interests.

Zardari said Pakistan wants to maintain exchange and dialogue with China.

He hopes the two countries will strengthen cooperation in trade, energy, finance and infrastructure.
