Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, has met with Wu Poh-Hsiung, honorary chairman of the Kuomintang Party and other participants to the sixth Cross-Strait Economic, Trade and Culture Forum.

Jia Qinglin welcomed the Taiwan delegation. He spoke highly of the development of cross-strait relationship.

In August last year, direct two-way Three Links between the mainland and Taiwan were realized, and in June this year, the two sides signed an Economic Cooperation Framework Agreement. Jia said the two events are so significant and they will go down in history. He said he hopes more compatriots on both sides could enjoy the benefits of improved cross-strait relations.

Jia Qinglin also spoke highly of the role played by both KMT and CPC in the development of the cross-strait relationship.

Wu Poh-Hsiung said KMT will implement the ECFA with its biggest confidence and determination. The forum, sponsored by the KMT and the CPC, will open in Guangzhou on Saturday. It will concentrate on cross-Strait cooperation in green energy, energy conservation and environment protection.
