Floods have continued to wreak havoc at the border between Mexico and the US. Traffic between both sides has been disrupted, after floods hit the border's highway.
One footbridge remained opened on both sides of the border. Authorities warn that the Rio Grande could rise another two meters overnight at Reynosa in the Mexican state of Tamaulipas. Local residents have been advised to evacuate, but many refused due to fears of being burgled while away. Hurricane Alex and a subsequent tropical depression have caused rivers to overflow across Mexico's three northern states.
