Four separate attacks in central Iraq have claimed 8 lives and injured 18. Five family members were shot dead when gunmen stormed the house of a local leader for the Awakening Council, in the town of You-si-fiya, some 25 kilometers south of Baghdad.
Two policemen were killed and five civilians were injured, in a roadside bomb explosion near a police patrol in eastern Baghdad. A driver was killed in a bomb attack in the city of Fallujah. Thirteen people were wounded, three of them critically, when a bomb struck protestors in the city of Khalis. Sporadic attacks are still common in Iraqi cities, after the country's landmark parliamentary election.
