We begin in east China's Nanjing, where the water level of the Yangtze River has risen to its highest level in a decade.
The river is now 80 centimeters above the dangerous level. Other rivers and lakes in Nanjing have also exceeded their danger marks. Despite the rising water levels, the local flood control office says the situation is still under control. Emergency crews have been sent to monitor dykes in the region, and relieve water levels in some reservoirs.
