Agricultural Bank of China has made its debut in Hong Kong, one day after its listing in Shanghai.
Donald Tsang, the chief executive of the Hong Kong special administrative region attended the listing ceremony. The bank's shares hit a trading high of more than 3.3 percent from its starting price.
The bank has sold nearly 22 billion shares, and says its shares offered under the Hong Kong public offering, has been 4.8 times oversubscribed.
The chairman of Agricultural bank of China, Xiang Junbo, says he's satisfied they have reached the over-subscription rate.
AgBank's listing in Shanghai yesterday and in Hong Kong today, aims to replenish its capital base after a lending spree last year.
