A massive fire has killed 40 people and injured more than 20 others at a hotel in northern Iraq.
The blaze in the city of Sulaimaniyah broke out early Friday morning at the Somo Hotel.
Many of the dead were from Bangladesh, the Philippines and Thailand. At least six of the victims jumped from the fourth floor of the hotel to escape the inferno.
The head of local security operations has ruled out terrorism, saying the fire was most likely sparked by an electrical fault.
Sulaimaniyah has enjoyed relative peace and prosperity since the US-led invasion in 2003.
